Fly high without leaving your chair and admire Huttopia’s most beautiful campsites and villages in Europe and North America from up in the clouds.
In the Tarentaise valley, only a few miles from Courchevel and Méribel, the Huttopia Bozel en Vanoise campsite is ideally located for experiencing all that the Vanoise National Park has to offer with family or friends.
Heading towards Groningen via Apeldoorn and Zwolle, we turn off into the spectacular countryside just after the national park. This is it: the holiday starts here! The scenery is more beautiful than we could have imagined for this flat country, with enchanting roads, a century-old forest and the beautiful Overijsselse Vecht river. Then, suddenly, we find ourselves at the entrance to the Huttopia de Roos campsite, nestled in a lush green environment. Welcome to this haven of peace, open space and nature.
“Time for the last stop on our road trip in Huttopia: Saumur! We leave the Atlantic coast for the Loire. This river, the longest in France, is also one of the last ‘wild rivers’ in Europe.”
“It’s goodbye to one island and hello to another. This time, we head over the île de Ré bridge. The memories start coming back to me straight away – memories of all the summer holidays I spent here with my grandparents.”
“We board a ferry with Rosalie in Verdon-sur-Mer. About a twenty-minute crossing separates us from Royan in Charente-Maritime. Foreign lands and epic voyages seem to be beckoning to us on the wind.”
“We’re now heading for the 7th stop of our road trip in Huttopia! We carry on following the coastline towards Carcans lake in the Landes du Médoc, an area populated by pine trees between the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gironde estuary and the wine-growing area alongside it on the other.”
“It’s time to head for the ocean! We haven’t seen the sea in 7 months, so we can’t wait. We love the mountains of Auvergne, but a bit of sea air just adds that little something extra.”
“We follow country roads to arrive in Périgord Blanc (White Perigord). This is one of the four areas of the Dordogne, all named with a colour. It’s less famous than its purple and black neighbours, which makes us even more excited to discover it.”
« Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is a picturesque medieval village known for its old abbey, its narrow streets with their small shops and its relaxed way of life by the river. This village in the Limousin region is also the next stop on our journey through Huttopia.”
